Works great June 20, 2005 J. Leigh (chicago) 29 out of 30 found this review helpful
I finally gave up on trying to get my Linksys PCI card to work with my ShuttlePC. There is some bizzare conflict somewhere...
As the other reviewers had indicated, this unit works great. Install the driver and then plug in the gadget. The Dlink icon in the system tray gives you status info on the gadget. Clicking on the icon takes you directly to the standard WinXP networking interface, not a proprietary interface that seems to often conflict with what XP is telling you (ie with Linksys products).
The unit also comes with a USB extension adapter/cable in case it is inconvenient to plug the unit directly into your computer's USB port. It is also useful as a means to extend the range of the unit by keeping it away from the metal chassis of your computer.
Nice Compact Wireless Adapter March 24, 2005 Geezer (the streets) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This works great in my laptop. I installed the drivers, rebooted, and plugged this bad boy in and BAM! I was able to get onto my wireless network from anywhere in my home right after entering in my security key into the configuration software. Setup was a breeze.
Now when I want my old IBM laptop to go wireless I just whip this puppy out and plug it into my USB port. My laptop already knows about it so it just pops right up and asks which wireless network I want to connect to.
This thing must have good range because not only do I get enough signal all throughout my home I can also see my neighbors wireless network. It's nice to know that I can go further than my house. I haven't actually been outside to test the limits of the range, but why would I, it's cold out there. ;)
This wireless adapter seems to work great everytime I use it. very reliable, not very expensive, and not hard to use. Pick one up if you are looking for a USB wireless adapter. Make sure you have USB 2.0 so you can get the best speeds.
Works with the Mac Mini & Jaguar... September 17, 2005 clicclic (Indianapolis, IN Estados Unitos) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This USB dongle does work with the Mac Mini and Jaguar. BUT: you must get the dongle that uses firmware version 2.02, not 1.02. The older version uses a Prism chipset, which doesn't work. The newer version uses a Ralink chipset which does work.
[...] When you turn on your mac you have to unplug this and then plug it in to get the mac to recognize it. But that's really trivial. A great little product for Mac peeps. I haven't tried it with Tiger yet.
Mac user - it really does work... March 31, 2007 S. Raneri (Lancaster, PA USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I purchased the D-Link AirPlus G Wireless USB adapter - model DWL-G122 I use an I-mac powerPC G4. OSX 10.4.9 - My computer is almost 4 years old. I tried to install the software provided by D-Link, but there is nothing for the mac on the install disk. I called D-Link Tech Support and they told me the USB Adapter I purchased was not compatable with my computer. After researching the reviews on here, I was able to get the necessary drivers that DOES allow this product to work with my computer. This product works perfectly with my computer... no thanks to D-Link tech support!
Very pleased June 30, 2005 Slartibartfast (Magrathea) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this adapter to plug into an older computer that I was putting in my son's room. The setup could not have been easier. He was surfing the Web in about 5 minutes. His computer only has USB 1.1 ports, but this adapter (which is USB 2.0) works just fine and I am getting speeds ranging from 36-54 Mbps depending on signal strength (which is ranging from good to very good and sometimes excellent). The router I have is a Linksys and there are no problems with mixing these two brands of gear. Highly recommended.
