Amazon.com Review This nifty gadget may look like an ordinary multi-purpose Swiss Army knife, but it's not. Inside, 512 megabytes of USB memory allow users to transport image, music, and data files from home to office and back again. It even features a full complement of more conventional Swiss Army tools, including a knife blade, nail file with screwdriver, scissors, key ring, LED mini-light, and retractable ballpoint pen. Also included is an extension cable to connect the memory stick with a USB port. Small enough to hang from a keychain, it's a great accessory for the frequent traveler and an ideal gift for the business adventurer with a James Bond frame of mind. The SwissMemory is compatible with USB 1.1/2.0 interface, Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/MAC OS X, OS 8.6 and higher, Linux 2.4 and higher. Free, downloadable SecureLock software protects data from unauthorized access. --Mary Park

Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

Cool Little Tool... November 5, 2005 Dwayne M. Martin (Collinsville, VA) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
The Swissmemory USB knife/tool is a very handy device for those who need the portability of an USB drive and the added diverse functons provided by a Swiss knife. Item is well made and hopefully should provide years of service.
What a great "man" gift! March 12, 2006 M. Bird (Colorado) 9 out of 12 found this review helpful
I got this as a gift for my husband and he loves it! and I think with the new flight regulations it is ok to take on a plane (blade is less than 3"). The memory stick works perfectly and so do all the other tools on the knife. Could be a little cheaper, but not bad at all.
Very Handy! July 9, 2007 M. Cohrs (Denver, CO USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased one of these when they first came out. The USB drive is great to always have on hand - I can receive computer notes from presenters at conferences, move large files easily, and carry many utility programs with me. The traditional knife, scissors and nail file are handy and the pen is great - never without a way to scribble a couple of notes. The only downer is the weak red LED, but that is a bit picky. Great tool.
Perfect for the Man who has everything! July 8, 2007 Curlz (Yemassee, SC USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My father is a 77 year old techno-geek. He has always been VERY hard to shop for. However, the one low-tech item he never goes anywhere without is his swiss army knife. So, when I found this flash drive, it was the perfect gift. He works with CAD, and so when he needs to move a file, it's a big one. This will help him a great deal. However, since he does travel with his job, I wish I had thought to get the Flight version. Oh well, he can always check the drive.
512mb SwissMemory has all the right tools. March 30, 2007 Z. Dietzman (Il USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Fits great in your pocket with just enough storage for all my college papers. The multi tools are actually useful and made wonderfully. Highly recommended.
